ALDEBARAN PARK'S STALLIONS ON FIRE!
Aldebaran Park's frozen semen harness racing stallions Malabar Maple and Dream Vacation have taken the trotting world by storm over the past month or so. Undoubtedly the highlight was the win of two-year-old Scotty Doesn't Know (by Malabar Maple) in the recent $100,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Final at Rideau Carleton Raceway, Canada.
Another of Malabar Maple's two-year-olds, Photogenic Filly, captured three heats of the Grassroots Series.
Malabar Maple's North American progeny have earned in excess of Canadian $3.1million with three in 1:56, 11 in 1:58 and 22 in 2:00. He has a 69 percent winners-to-starters ratio (excluding 2 year-olds) and 83 individual winners including 28 Stakes winners.
Meanwhile, Malabar Maple's ‘Down Under' stock continue to take all before them. The four-year-olds Defend Me Not (a winner at Shepparton last week), Mals Image, Mister Malakye and Kyvalley Alley have all won in Victoria this season, and Night Of My Life, a half-brother to cup class trotter Rhythm Of The Night, prevailed last week at Ashburton in New Zealand.
Companion sire Dream Vacation continues to prove his value and has been represented by winners in North America, New Zealand and Australia during the last month.
The Addington winner Holiday Lover Tr 2:01.4, Great Getaway (Cambridge & Morrinsville), St Croix (Forbury Park) and Real Deal Yankee, who finished runner-up in the $100,000 NZ Trotting Free-For-All, are carrying the flag for Dream Vacation in New Zealand, while, in Australia, he is represented by Maori Vacation, a winner of four of his past six starts.
In North America, Dream Vacation has progeny earnings of $14.2million, of which $3.3million has been won in 2009. He has 25 in 1:55, 122 in 2:00 and 42 $100,000 winners.
Malabar Maple stands for $2,750 including GST and Dream Vacation for $8,250 incl. GST.
