ALDEBARAN PARK NEWS UPDATE MAY 2018

Skyvalley progeny top $2million

Skyvalley, the leading Australian-based trotting stallion again this season, recently topped the $2million mark in lifetime progeny earnings. He has sired 31 winners from 45 starters in Australia this season for $633,689 in stakes (to May 31) including six winners from seven three-year-old starters.

Tornado Valley NZ ($217,087) became Skyvalley’s richest ever performer when he captured a further two Group events during May including the Bruce Skeggs Cranbourne Trotters Cup and the John Slack Memorial (Ballarat). The brilliant gelding has won no less than seven Group/Listed races in 2017/18!

He was one of seven individual winners sired by Skyvalley during May. They included the Aldebaran Park bred Aldebaran Eve (ex Aldebaran Dream NZ), who posted her eighth win at Kilmore, and a ‘new’ winner Aldebaran Poppy (ex Aldebaran Avenue).

The three-year-old Reils, who made it seven wins from 15 starts at Ballarat, Myrtle Vale (Maryborough), Mizuri (Charlton) and Sun Valley Road (Globe Derby Park) were other recent winners sired by Skyvalley, while Kyvalley Finn finished a game second in the Group 2 NSW Trotters Derby at Menangle.

Flyin Around and Aldebaran Jaytee, a pair of three-year-olds bred by Aldebaran Park and both members of the first crop of frozen sire Yield Boko Swe, notched their initial successes at Melton and Ballarat respectively. Flyin Around is a daughter of Aldebaran Queenie, while Aldebaran Jaytee is out of Aldebaran Crumpet.

Yield Boko has left three winners and a placegetter from five starters from his first crop!

The US import Eilean Donon, who stood at Aldebaran Park, was represented by the Group 1 winner Imamenace, who sent his stake earnings over the $50,000 mark at Shepparton.

Aldebaran Park owned trotters won races in two continents in May. Monday Nite, a filly by Yankee Glide, began her three-year-old campaign on a winning note at Harrah’s Philadelphia in 1:56.6, while Zhenya NZ posted win No 13 and sent her stake tally over the $100,000 mark in the Monte at Maryborough and Light The Flame won for the fifth time at Globe Derby Park.

The Aldebaran Park Monte Championship, run at Melton, saw victory got to Any Old Way NZ, trained by Brent Lilley and ridden by Jackie Barker.

The Aldebaran Park broodmare band boasts trotting mares from USA, Sweden and New Zealand and now Holland. We recently purchased from Yoko Farms, Holland the yearling filly Kela Hale Boko, a daughter of the USA 2YO Trotter of the Year Broadway Hall and Ela Boko, by the Swedish Horse of the Year Going Kronos.
