ALDEBARAN PARK NEWS UPDATE OCTOBER 2017

Skyvalley sires season’s first 3YO winner!

Our resident champion stallion SKYVALLEY sired the first three-year-old winner of the season when Flash Kyvalley led throughout and soundly trounced his rivals on debut at Kilmore.

Bred and owned by Jim Connelly, who raced SKYVALLEY throughout his spectacular career, the gelding ranks as a full brother to Kyvalley Boomerang 1:57.4 ($108,743).

Blue Sky Commander, SKYVALLEY’S richest male performer, notched his 13th lifetime success and sent his stake tally over the $130,000 mark with an authoritative win at Gloucester Park, clocking 57.7 for the last 800.

Meanwhile, promising  SKYVALLEY mare Coconut Sunrise, who was bred by Aldebaran Park out of Aldebaran Sunset NZ, went on a 16-metre romp winning her second race for the new season at Terang.

Aldebaran Ten (Aldebaran Yankee-Aldebaranfavourite), another bred by Aldebaran Park, completed a winning hat trick at Globe Derby Park on October 23 and four days later finished a close second in the Wayville Trotters Cup. The gelding, who was a finalist in the SA Trotter of the Year Award, has now won 14 races.

Hotjane Bling (Eilean Donon-Kyvalley Bling) and Imahe Man (Aldebaran Yankee-Kyvalley Aldebaran NZ), a pair of Aldebaran Park bred trotters, both emerged successful recently. Hotjane Bling captured the opening heat of the Aldebaran Park Vicbred Platinum Trotting Mares’ Sprint Championship in 2:00.1 at Maryborough, while Imahe Man won in a career-best 2:00 at Bendigo.

Maori Time and Abitofmagic, two of the headline acts among the ranks of Australian trotters, are both out of mares owned by Aldebaran Park. Maori Time¸ who is out of Sundonna, is undefeated in three outings this season highlighted by the Group 1 $50,000 Aldebaran Park Bill Collins Trotters Sprint in a blazing 1:56.6, while Abitofmagic (ex Mason Magic) hoisted a career-best 1:59.8 at Melton.

We congratulate Kima Frenning on winning the Aldebaran Park Monte Riders Premiership for 2016/17. Frenning finished with 117 points, followed by Kylee Paull (94), Haley Toulmin (90), Nina Ullestad (84) and Jackie Barker (77).
