Horse of the Year Double for Aldebaran Park!

Kyvalley Kyrie (by Angus Hall USA), who was bred by Aldebaran Park, has won the Vancleve Award for Australian 2YO Trotting Filly of the Year for 2015/16.

The winner of the Breeders Crown, the filly is out of our resident mare Aldebaran Maori,– (by Dream Vacation USA – Maori Lindy – Lindy Lane USA) - herselfsecond to Skyvalley NZ in a 3YO Breeders Crown Final

Aldebaran Park also own the dam of the 2015/16 Aged Trotting Mare of the Year Maori Time in the Sundon mare Sundonna, dam of three Breeders Crown finalists – Happy Maori, Maori Time and Maori Law.

Kyvalley Kyrie and Maori Time were also recognised at the annual Harness Breeders Victoria Awards, along with the Aldebaran Park bred Aldebaran Eve (by SKYVALLEY NZ – Aldebaran Dream NZ – Dream Vacation USA), who was named 3YO Trotting Filly of the Year.

SKYVALLEY NZ, last season’s leading sire of three-year-old trotters in Australia, has started the new season with great results for his progeny.

He has sired five winners in three different States headed up by the Menangle winner Sheza Amason (1:59.5), who posted her fifth win and took her earnings over the $50,000 mark; Kyvalley Boomerang, who won at Melton, Geelong and Kilmore; and the dual Globe Derby Park winner Sosogood.

The Aldebaran Park bred Aldebaran Midnite (5 wins) and Skyflyer (3 wins) have been other winners for SKYVALLEY NZ in September.

EILEAN DONON USA, whose stock average $19,000 per starter, sired two winners for the month being Bee A Lassie (from Aldebaran Honey – Muscles Yankee USA), an Aldebaran Park bred mare,who notched win No 10 at Globe Derby Park, and Nica Macdonon, who came off a 20 meter handicap at Shepparton to win for the sixth time.

The 2016/17 Aldebaran Park sponsored Monte Championship kicked off with heats at Bendigo and Maryborough. The two winners, Idle Suntime and Frances Annie, were both trained by Michelle Wight and driven by Nina Ullestad.
