Aldebaran Park bred trotters on fire! - March 2019

By Peter Wharton

Trotters bred at Aldebaran Park stud created headlines during March…both on and off the track!

We bred six individual winners for the month spearheaded by the impressive Melton winners On Fast Forward and Fear Not, both products of our resident stallion SKYVALLEY.

On Fast Forward, a five-year-old gelding out of Aldebaranfavourite, has now won seven races and $47,000 in stakes, while Fear Not (ex Aldebaran Maori) has won six times for more than $90,000.

Aldebaran Poppy, a five-year-old daughter of SKYVALLEY and Aldebaran Revenue, notched her third success at Cobram, while the four-year-old Aldebaran Jaytee (by YIELD BOKO) and Imahe Man were other recent homebred winners.

Aldebaran Jaytee (ex Aldebaran Crumpet) scored at Kilmore and Cranbourne and has now won three of his five lifetime starts, while Imahe Man (ex Kyvalley Aldebaran NZ) overcame a 30 metre handicap to register his eighth success at Wangaratta.

A dual Vicbred finalist, Imahe Man has earned $42,630 to date.

Another Aldebaran Park-bred, Aldebaran Kiri (by SKYVALLEY), finished a close second in the Group 1 $50,000 Lyn McPherson Memorial Breed For Speed Gold Series Final at Melton in 1:57.

Other SKYVALLEY winners during March were Scenic Sky (1:58.4, Menangle), Reils (Maryborough), who has won 10 of his 23 starts, the Albion Park victor Miss Invasion and Kyvalley Finn (Shepparton).

SKYVALLEY is enjoying another great season in 2018/19. In Australia, he is in second position on the all aged Sire’s list with 18 winners of 43 races and almost $560,000 in stakes (to March 31).

Aldebaran Park was again the leading vendor at the Australasian Premier Trotting Sale held at Oaklands Junction, selling 13 head including the second highest priced filly at $40,000, a filly by Muscle Hill from the Revenue mare Aldebaran Revenue, the dam of Aldebaran Poppy.
