ALDEBARAN PARK NEWS UPDATE JANUARY 2018

Skyvalley is leading trotting sire

Our champion sire SKYVALLEY is the leading living sire of the number of races won in Australia this season (to February 2) with 33 wins. He is also equal second in respect of individual winners with 17.

SKYVALLEY’s progeny has amassed more than $300,000 in stakes already this season to again rank him in the top bracket of trotting sires.

SKYVALLEY was represented by no less than 10 individual trotting winners during January in two States and New Zealand.

Sky Majesty, a five-year-old mare and one of his second crop, became the fifth of SKYVALLEY’s progeny to join the ‘$100,000 Club’ with back-to-back successes at Maryborough and Melton.

Reils, a three-year-old gelding, led in a SKYVALLEY quinella at Globe Derby Park on January 20 with Ima Skybabe second. He won again at Globe Derby nine days later and boasts four wins from seven lifetime starts.

War Admiral and Hades Sky, a pair of SKYVALLEY three-year-olds, won at Invercargill, New Zealand and Echuca respectively to lift his tally of three-year-old winners this season to five.

Other SKYVALLEY winners for the month were Miss Invasion (Melton), Waikare Astronomer (Bendigo), Valley Ess Jay (Swan Hill, off 30m), No Republic (Maryborough), Sun Valley Road (Globe Derby Park), while Skyflyer took out the first race of the Aldebaran Park Monte Championship at Ballarat. Congratulations to David Aiken and Kima Frenning.

Mister Oz, trained by Matty Craven and ridden by Jackie Barker, won the second Monte race at Melton.

Watch out for the Aldebaran Park draft at the Australasian Premier Trotting Sale on Sunday,  March 11 at Tabcorp Park, Melton.

Last year Aldebaran Park produced the sales topper and this year’s 12 strong consignment looks even more formidable with progeny by Andover Hall (3), YIELD BOKO (3), Muscle Hill (2), SKYVALLEY, Trixton, Angus Hall and Pegasus Spur.

There’s a half-brother top Maori Time and Maori Law, a half-brother to dual Vicbred champion Aldebaran Eve, a sister to Aldebaran Midnite, a half-sister to Aldebaran Pete and a half-sister to Breezin Around and close relatives to top trotters YIELD BOKO, SKYVALLEY, Allegro Agitato, Genius, Jackka Justy, Fiery Mountain Girl, Aldebaran Maori and Kyvalley Kyrie.

Good luck at the racetrack and in the sales ring.
