ALDEBARAN PARK NEWS UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2017

Hat trick for Sky Majesty

Sky Majesty, a five-year-old daughter of our leading sire SKYVALLEY, was the unaminous choice as Horse of the Month for September. She won three consecutive races at Shepparton and has now won five of her past six outings.

Blue Sky Commander became SKYVALLEY’s richest ever male performer when he overcame a 10 metre handicap to win at his Gloucester Park debut, advancing his stake tally to $119,592. SKYVALLEY has sired four winners of $100,000 or more so far.

Aldebaran Kiri and Coconut Sunrise, both sired by SKYVALLEY and bred by Aldebaran Park, emerged successful in September. Aldebaran Kiri¸ out of Maori Road, scored for the third time at Maryborough in a career-best 1:58.7, while Coconut Sunrise (ex Aldebaran Sunset NZ) broke maiden ranks at Geelong.

EILEAN DONON, who boasts a 35 percent winners-to-foals ratio, left two very impressive winners in September in Hotjane Bling and Nica Macdonon. Bred by Aldebaran Park out of Kyvalley Bling, Hotjane Bling won at Cranbourne and Bendigo, while Nica Macdonon came off a 30 metre handicap to record her 10th win at Echuca and lift her stake earnings beyond $90,000.

Aldebaran Park achieved a rather notable double at Melton on September 8 with top racemares Maori Time and Abitofmagic. Both are out of mares now being bred from by us in Sundonna and Mason Magic respectively. Both won again at headquarters, Maori Time, taking out the Group 3 Aldebaran Park True Roman Free-for-all and Abitofmagic winning for the seventh time from only 15 starts.

Aldebaran Ten (Aldebaran Yankee-Aldebaranfavourite), who was bred by Aldebaran Park, scored twice in the space of five days at Globe Derby Park, including a brilliant win against the pacers!

Tiavons Dream and Light The Flame, who are both part-owned by Aldebaran Park, won at Melton and Globe Derby Park respectively. Tiavons Dream scored in a career-best 1:58.1 and 1:59 and has now won 12 races and $85,017 in stakes.

Three recent arrivals at the farm are Aldebaran Sunset NZ, a colt by Muscle Mass; Yankee Sister (1/2 to Cold Sister), a filly by Majestic Son; and Backina Lifetime (13 wins), a filly by SKYVALLEY.

The multiple Group winning filly Endsino ($185,203), the richest Australian-bred progeny of Angus Hall¸ has joined the burgeoning Aldebaran Park broodmare band this season. She took a mile record of 1:58.1 and won 11 races including the Vicbred Finals at 2 and 4 and The Holmfield.
