All the way in DJA Group 1 Siring success for Skyvalley NZ - July 2021

Aldebaran Park bred trotters enjoyed success in three different countries during July 2021.

Pink Galahs (T 1.54.3), a daughter of Aldebaran Park flagship SKYVALLEY NZ and the recently crowned Victorian 3YO Trotting Filly of the Year in 2020, provided the highlight of the month, making a clean sweep of the Darrell J. Alexander Trotting Championship series at Albion Park.

Starting from a 20metre handicap, Pink Galahs overwhelmed a top field in the Group 1 $52,000 Final at a 2:00.7 rate over 2647metres – only 0.9 outside the track record.

She has now won 16 races and $273,654 and is SKYVALLEY’s richest female and second leading overall stakes earner.

Tornado Valley NZ (T 1.53.1 - $996,797), was crowned the 2020 Victorian Aged Trotting Entire/Gelding of the Year, is the richest progeny of SKYVALLEY NZ.

Kyvalley Boomerang, who brought up win No. 20 at Menangle, Dragonfly (Melton) and the Auckland winner Kimkar Dash NZ were other recent winners sired by SKYVALLEY NZ.

In North America, brilliant three-year-old colt Sonofamistery USA (Muscle Hill USA. - Mistery Woman USA), who was jointly bred by Aldebaran Park Inc. and Millstream Farm Inc, captured one of the country’s most prestigious trotting classics, the $138,000 Stanley Dancer Memorial, in a career-best 1:50.4 at The Meadowlands. A $176,000 yearling, Sonofamistery subsequently finished an unlucky fourth in an elimination of the iconic Hambletonian and qualified for the $1 million Final to be run on 7th August 2021 at the Meadowlands.

Aldebaran Revani USA - (T3 – 1.54.8 - Donato Hanover USA -Coffeecake Hanover USA), a four-year-old mare raced by Aldebaran Park, has made a brilliant start to her ‘down under’ career, winning twice at Menangle in 1:54.9 and 1:56.5 from three starts. She looks to have a bright future.

Aldebaran Park bred or owned a pair of winners in New Zealand during July in Aldebaran Heather NZ and Aldebaran Flame NZ.

Aldebaran Heather NZ, an older half-sister by Trixton USA to this year’s 2021 NZ Trotting Oaks victor Aldebaran Floss NZ (from the mare Another Love NZ), won her first race at her third start at Addington, while the three-year-old filly Aldebaran Flame NZ (Trixton USA -Fire in The Night NZ) overcame a 30-metre handicap to score her second success at Auckland.

On the home front, the Aldebaran Park bred and owned Aldebaran Tess NZ (Muscle Hill USA -Solar Powered NZ) won twice at Melton and boast six wins from 13 starts, while the Aldebaran Park co-owned Aldebaran Belle NZ. (Dream Vacation USA -Chiola Belle NZ) won three races in the space of a fortnight on Victorian country tracks.

To complete a massive month, a pair of Aldebaran Park bred three-year-old fillies in Aldebaran Yahtzee (Sebastian K Se -Charming Yankee NZ) and Aldebaran Dianna (Father Patrick USA -Bromac Aldebaran NZ) won at Bendigo and Globe Derby Park respectively.
