Group Treble for Aldebaran Park - October 2022

Aldebaran Keepa NZ, Aldebaran Zeus and Rockinwithattitude, a trio of talented young trotters, all tasted Group success in October 2022.

The three-year-old filly Aldebaran Keepa NZ (Kadabra USA - Another Love NZ), bred, owned, and raced on lease by Aldebaran Park with Tylah Hackett – daughter of trainers Michelle Wallis and Bernie Hackett, was undoubtedly the headline act, stringing together three consecutive wins in elite company.

Firstly, the bonny filly captured the Aldebaran Park Starlet at Cranbourne in 1:59.4 over 2080m – the first sub 2:00 time ever put up by a trotter at the east Gippsland track. Next, Aldebaran Keepa NZ overcame an early check and a 4 back the rail run to see clear air in the last 200m and unleash a withering finish and a wide passage to win the Group 1 $60,000 Victoria Trotters Oaks at Tabcorp Park, Melton and, a fortnight later, put the icing on the cake with a race record-breaking 1:56.6 effort in the Aldebaran Park Gold Bracelet over 1690m at the Redwood Carnival at Maryborough.

Aldebaran Zeus (Muscle Hill USA - Zoia Boko Swe), also bred, owned, and raced on lease by Aldebaran Park with Tracey Cullen and Melinda and Danny Thackeray, notched his fifth success at Group level when he led throughout in a career-best 1:58 in the Aldebaran Park True Roman Free-for-all at Tabcorp Park, Melton. He has now won 13 races and $235,500 in stakes.

Rockinwithattitude, a two-year-old filly and one of the second crop of the deceased resident stallion ALDEBARAN EAGLE USA, put an exclamation mark on a terrific month for her sire when she annexed the Group 2 $30,000 Tatlow Stakes at Tabcorp Park, Melton. It was her fifth success from eight outings.

Other ALDEBARAN EAGLE USA winners in October were the two-year-old Aldebaran Stiles (ex Sundonna – Dam of 2018 Elitloppet representative Maori Time ) and the three-year-olds Aldebaran Boyd (ex Aldebaran Revenue) and Aldebaran Demi (ex Aldebaran Maori), all bred by Aldebaran Park.

ALDEBARAN EAGLE USA has the amazing siring score of having had seven winners and seven placegetters from 17 starters from only 40 foals of racing age.

Aldebaran Park bred no less than 10 individual winners of 11 races in October 2022.

Other stud winners were the highly promising 4yo Aldebaran Dino (Andover Hall USA - Aldebaran Maori), a winner at Tabcorp Park, Melton in 1:56.7 and at Maryborough and now the winner of 5 races from 8 lifetime starts , Aldebaran Tess NZ (Muscle Hill USA -Solar Powered NZ), who won in 1:58.2 at Tabcorp Park Menangle, New South Wales and now the winner of 10 races, the siblings - 2yo filly Aldebaran Miley (Father Patrick USA) and 3yo Aldebaran Misty (Skyvalley Nz)  - both ex Mason Magic) and Abbie (Majestic Son CA - Aldebaran Peggy).

Resident sire SKYVALLEY NZ left two winners in Kyvalleyhoneybunny and Aldebaran Misty and figured as the Damsire of the winners Maori Franklin, Lady Adelia, and Abbie.

The smart mare and 2021 NZ 4yo Trotting Mare of the Year - Rain Mist And Muscle NZ, (Muscle Hill USA – October Rain Nz) who is owned by Aldebaran Park, posted her seventh success and lifted her stake earnings to more than $90,000 when she let down with a paralysing burst from worse than midfield to prevail at Alexandra Park, Auckland – New Zealand.

We also welcomed the arrival of the stallion Dancinginthedark M to our stud – he arrived safely out of quarantine on 27th October 2022 and has immediately commenced stud duties. He was paraded at the Redwood Carnival at Maryborough on Sunday 30th October and the feedback re his stature and attitude was nothing short of outstanding.  Dancinginthedark M (2, 1:52.2; 3, 1:49.3), the fastest two-year-old trotter to come to Australia and the fourth fastest trotting stallion of all-time, is a welcome addition to the Breeding scene in the Southern Hemisphere.

Full details re Dancinginthedark M, Brochures and Booking forms can be found on the Aldebaran Park website – see the Stallion section.
