Tornado Valley joins the elite - December 2021
Champion Skyvalley Nz gelding Tornado Valley NZ became only the third trotter in Australia to break through the $1 million barrier when he won the Group 3 Aldebaran Park Bob Freestone Free-for-all at Melton on December 4 2021.
It was the gelding’s 39th success and his 23rd at Melton – a record for a trotter - and lifted his stake tally to $1,013,477.
Tornado Valley Nz was bred in New Zealand by Mrs. Petina Gaugler, whose association with the gelding’s family goes back to his fourth dam, Susquehanna, and trainer-driver Terry McMillan.
The gelding won seven races and $70,947 for the pair before his sale to Queensland owner Norm Jenkin in February 2018.
Trained by Andy Gath, Tornado Valley Nz has won a further 32 races including 10 at Group 1 level and was accorded Trotter of the Year and Aged Trotter of the Year in 2019 and 2020 and Grand Circuit Champion in 2020.
The Aldebaran Park-bred three-year-old Aldebaran Zeus T3 - 1.58.7 - $160,170.00 (Muscle Hill USA - Zoia Boko Swe) and two-year-old filly Aldebaran Vera T2 – 2.03.5 - $47,445.00 (Trixton USA - Kyvalley Aldebaran NZ) both raced with real distinction in the Aldebaran Park Vicbred Super Series, winning heats at Maryborough and finishing runner-up in their respective Group 1 $100,000 Finals at Melton on 31st December 2021.
Aldebaran Boyd, a two-year-old colt bred, raised, and sold by Aldebaran Park, provided the ill fated stallion ALDEBARAN EAGLE Usa with his first ever Group winner when he took out the Group 3 $25,000 Aldebaran Park Vicbred Super Series 2YO Silver Trot at Geelong. The colt is out of Aldebaran Revenue, a Revenue Swe mare.
SKYVALLEY Nz sired six individual winners in December to advance his seasonal tally to 35 and his progeny earnings to $931,696, placing him third on the All Aged list.
Besides Tornado Valley Nz¸ SKYVALLEY Nz was also the sire of a trio of three-year-old winners in Tennerson – 5 wins to date, Kyvalleyhoneybunny – 4 wins to date and Walkabout Cascade, and the Melton winners Skyrita and Golden Sunset T 1.59.4.
In exciting news on the breeding front Endsino has successfully been bred - 45 day positive to Muscle Hill USA via Embryo Transfer and Excellent Boko has had her 14 day positive to Muscle Hill USA – we look forward to her 45 day test with anticipation.
