ALDEBARAN PARK NEWS UPDATE DECEMBER 2017

Skyvalley winners everywhere!

SKYVALLEY Nz, the leading Australian-based trotting stallion again this season and the leading living trotting sire, left seven winners during December on both sides of the Tasman and as at end December 2017 ranks No.2 in Australia behind Sundon on the Trotters All aged List.

Leading the vanguard was the bonny mare Sky Petite, a six-year-old and one of his first crop, who became SKYVALLEY’S richest performer ($162,245) when she scored in runaway fashion at Melton, rating 1:58.6 over 2240 metres with the last 800 in a slick 57.5.

No Republic, a four-year-old gelding, made it three wins from his last four starts when he obliterated the Terang track record for 2180 metres, winning by 24 metres!

While Breezin Around, a four-year-old mare bred by resident broodmare Aldebaran Breeze (Windsongs Legacy), notched her second success at Charlton.

SKYVALLEY also left two three-year-old winners in the homebred Aldebaran Pete (ex Aldebaran Deegan NZ), who posted his second win at Melton, and War Admiral¸ who broke through at only his third start at Gore, New Zealand.

Other recent NZ winners by SKYVALLEY have been Princess Mackendon, who overcame a 40 metre handicap to post her ninth win at Cambridge, and Pretorius, who came from 35 metres behind to score at Manawatu.

Another Aldebaran Park winner in December was the pacing gelding Aldebaran Macha (ex Aldebaran Bromac NZ), who posted win No 17 and lifted his stake tally to over $120,000 with his 1:55.5 mile success at Menangle.

Aldebaran Park established the unique record of producing the top priced lot at a trotting and pacing sale in the same year. In December the two-year-old filly Chezmac (ex Ally McBlossom) brought the top price of $34,000 at the Ready To Run Sale at Menangle after clocking the fastest last quarter of 26.3 in the breeze-ups, while earlier in April the filly Aldebaran Aliza (ex Kyvalley Aldebaran NZ)) topped the Australasian Premier Trotting Sale at $55,000.

On the subject of sales, Aldebaran Park will offer a lovely Muscle Hill USA filly out of Solar Powered NZ as Lot 189 at the NZ Premier Sale at Christchurch on February 13. It is the third foal of her dam whose first two foals realised $55,000 and $60,000 respectively. Solar Powered NZ is a full sister to Aldebaran Shades Nz Tr 1.59.5 – 17 wins and $192,610.

Aldebaran Park is also offering Lot 52 and Lot 179 at the Ladbrokes APG Sale at Oaklands Junction on the 4th February 2018. Lot 52 – a colt by Somebeachsomewhere USA from Aldebaran Bromac NZ is a half brother to Aldebaran Macha – as above – while lot 179 is a filly by Ameriacan Ideal USA from Our Awesome Lover NZ and is a half sister to Our Awesome Girl – p2 – 1.57.5 and a half brother to Riccardo p3 – 1.54.6

Our new stallion Aldebaran Eagle USA Tr 3 1.52.2 has a 100 percent record with two of the first mares bred to him in the Victoria Oaks winner Aldebaran Dream and Bee A Lassie (14 wins).

An interesting foaling at the farm in December was Excellent Boko Se, a mare imported from Sweden, who dropped a filly foal on December 6 by Readly Express, a millionaire son of super sire Ready Cash. Readly Express will compete in the Prix D’Amerique in Paris in late January 2018 so we will be watching with interest.

Other foalings in December were:

Aldebaran Honey – Colt by Majestic Son Ca.

Aldebaran Maori – Colt by Andover Hall Usa.

Countessa Hest Nz – Colt by Skyvalley Nz.

Aldebaran Dream Nz – Filly by Father Patrick Usa.

Excellent Boko – Filly by Readly Express Se.

Happy New Year to All  and may 2018 be safe both on and off the track.
