Aldebaran Park News Update July 2017

Group 1 Vicbred glory

SKYVALLEY’s brilliant daughter Aldebaran Eve, who was bred and raised at Aldebaran Park, notched her second win at Group 1 level and sent her over earnings over the $100,000 mark when she captured the $80,000 Vicbred Super Series Final for four-year-old mares at Melton.

Her end-to-end success which was highlighted by a blazing 58 seconds final 800 was the sixth of her career.

Aldebaran Eve, who won the Vicbred Final as a two-year-old, is the second foal of the Victoria Oaks winner Aldebaran Dream, and was knocked down for $18,000 at the 2014 Australasian Premier Trotting Sale.

Rift Valley, who finished a gallant third in the Vicbred 4YO Final, was one of six SKYVALLEY winners for the month, scoring win No 8 at Ballarat on July 26.

On the same night Scenic Sky, who recorded his fourth success, completed a double for SKYVALLEY.

New SKYVALLEY winners in July were the three-year-old On Fast Forward, a son of the Aldebaranfavourite, and Aldebaran Rambo (ex Maori Lindy), who posted his first success in runaway fashion at Melton, while Aldebaran Ay M (ex Big O E) emerged successful at both Ballarat and Melton, the latter in a career-best 1:58.8.

On Fast Forward, Aldebaran Rambo and Aldebaran Ay M were all bred and raised at our farm.

Another of the Aldebaran Park broodmare band, Sundonna, figures as the dam of the highly promising Maori Law, the winner of the recent Group 2 $30,000 Winter Trotters Cup at Melton.

To complete another busy month for SKYVALLEY, Kyvalley Topcat, a four-year-old, hoisted a new lifetime mark of 1:59.2 winning her fifth race at Melton.

SKYVALLEY has left 28 individual winners in Australia to date this season and almost $500,000 in progeny earnings, and is ranked in fifth position on the All Aged list with only three racing crops.
