Patched is WA’s pin up trotter - August 2022

The SKYVALLEY Nz gelding Patched T 1.59.5 is the toast of WA trotting following a string of top performances during the winter.

The five-year-old has won seven of his nine starts in his adopted state including five at Gloucester Park and a track record-breaking win off a 20 metre handicap at Pinjarra at his latest outing. He has now won 11 races overall and $74,788 in stakes.

SKYVALLEY Nz was also represented by a pair of three-year-old winners in the Aldebaran Park-bred Aldebaran Misty (from Mason Magic) and My Bad Habits, a double winner at Globe Derby Park.

SKYVALLEY’s list of broodmare credits continues to grow. Recent winners from his daughters have been Just A Bit Touchy (2nd in APTS Trot Final), I’m Bobby, Super Service and Wewillseehowego.

ALDEBARAN EAGLE USA, who has only two crops of racing age, sired the runaway Globe Derby Park – South Australia three-year-old winner Aldebaran Dexta (from Aldebaran Deegan NZ), bred and part-owned by Aldebaran Park, and the two-year-old filly Rockinwithattitude, a winner of two of her four starts to date in Victoria. His semen is only available to return mares in 2022 following his untimely passing.

Aldebaran Park bred or owned stock won in three different countries in August.

Topping the bill was the promising two-year-old filly Aldebaran Burst USA, a Lexington Selected Yearling Sale purchase who notched her first success in a Kentucky Golden Rod Series leg at the famed The Red Mile in 1:57.2. She is being aimed at the $50,000 Final later in September and other big Grand Circuit features later in the year.

Exciting three-year-old Aldebaran Allblack Nz ( Big O E Nz), who was bred and is part-owned by Aldebaran Park, and Aldebaran Flame Nz, a four-year-old mare part-owned by Aldebaran Park, both won at Alexandra Park, Auckland, New Zealand

On the home front, Aldebaran Park bred the Melton winners Aldebaran Zeus (Muscle Hill USA - Zoia Boko Swe) and Kyvalley Heist NZ (Muscle Mass USA - U Dream NZ), the Menangle victors Finn Runs Red 1:57.3 (Trixton USA -  Sundon’s Babe NZ) and Aldebaran Ursula (Yield Boko Swe - Ushaka Bromac NZ) and Aldebaran Huey (Majestic Son Ca - Aldebaran Honey).

Jaspervellabeach (ex Aldebaran Bromac NZ), a pacing gelding bred by Aldebaran Park, scored at Gloucester Park recently to lift his stake tally to almost $250,000.

Aldebaran Park bred no fewer than nine individual winners of 11 races during August.

In Sweden - Maori Time’s Yearling colt – by Readly Express SWE – named Generally Speaking SWE – has headed to the USA after 75% was sold to US interests – an exciting development for this regally bred colt. He will be trained in the USA by Jonas Czernyson.

3yo Filly Aldebaran Bardot SWE (Aldebaran Teal Swe – Charly Du Noyer Fr) has had her work stepped up as she moves closer to the to the Qualifiers at Solvalla in August 2022.
