Maharajah, one of the greatest trotters ever produced in Sweden, will again be available to Australian breeders via frozen semen this season from Aldebaran Park.

A son of the Italian-bred star Viking Kronos, Maharajah won 31 of his 59 starts including eight Group 1’s and four Group 3’s and $3.8 million in stakes.

Among his successes were the Grand Prix d’Amerique, the European and Swedish Derbies, the Grand Prix de Belgique, the Olympic Trot and the Swedish Travkriterium.

Standing at the famed Menhammar Stuteri, near Stockholm, Maharajah has enjoyed spectacular success ever since his first crop raced in 2013. He has been fully booked in Sweden every year with 100 Swedish bred foals since he started his stud career.

Last season he topped the Swedish sires’ list for the seventh consecutive year and set a new benchmark for progeny earnings in a single season with a record $10.1 million. He is again the leading sire this year.

Besides his amazing results in Sweden, Maharajah has also been multiple champion stallion in Italy, Germany, Finland and Norway.

He has sired no less than six millionaires and the winners of a multitude of open age features and major age classics throughout Europe.

They include the Italian bred Alrajah One, a multiple Group 1 winner in Europe and North America, Dream Mine, the 2025 Swedish Horse of the Year and the winner of four Group 1’s, Who's Who, a world record holder and winner of five Group 1’s, Makethemark, the winner of five Group 1’s, the Norwegian bred Moni Viking, a world champion and the 2022 Swedish Horse of the Year,  and the Swedish Breeders Crown champion A Fair Day.

In all, Maharajah has sired the winners of 3,800 races and progeny earnings of more than $67 million.

The service fee for Maharajah is to be confirmed. His progeny are eligible for the Vicbred Super Series and NZ Sires Stakes.
