Aldebaran Park HB in Sweden on the way forward

Having recently visited the Aldebaran Park HB progeny in Sweden whilst attending the Elitloppet 2014 Carnival at Solvalla Raceway in Stockholm  23rd to 25th May 2014 it was extremely  pleasing to be able to go and see first hand the progress of the Aldebaran Park HB fillies which have been purchased to race and ultimately be exported to Australia.

The two fillies purchased to date and their details are as follows:

Excellent Boko SE  - Broadway Hall USA. 1.56.4  (3,690,066 SEK or $569,472.00 USD)  - Exciting Kronos IT   1.58.1 (606,154SEK or $93,545.00 USD )  is a 3yo filly currently trained by Turmo Numos. A qualifying winner at 2years of age at her only visit to the track, all are pleased with her strengthening and conditioning to date and she has shown continual improvement.

First hand advice from Graham McDermott, foreman in Australia for the all conquering Chris and Sharon Lang Harness Racing Stable, who was in Sweden for a three week work experience, has indicated she has indeed may have a winning future in front of her.

Her full time groom Nathalie Borisenko, herself from Russia, will have a big influence over "Excellent"over the next few months as "Excellent" heads to the Workouts and Trials.

Trained on the beautiful hillside tracks at Fituna on the Baltic Sea, some 45 Kms from Stockholm, her training includes fast work on the 1000m hill track and includes 500m uphill, its pleasing to be advised that to date "Excellent" has handled the increased workload well and with no issues and with sound legs at this stage holding her in good stead, the workload is ever increasing as she heads to the workouts and trials. Exciting times for "Excellent" indeed!!!!

Underaged SE, to be renamed Aldebaran Teal, is a yearling filly by Going Kronos IT  1.52.2 (6,674,034SEK or $1,029,975.00 USD) - Jeune  Fille  SE 1.56.5  (550,150 SEK or $84,902.00 USD)  currently on farm at Menhammer Stuteri and in Augustto be moved and to be trained by the legendary Swedish trainer / Driver Torbjorn  Jansson, himself a visitor to Australia on numerous occasions, most recently when he drove Ridgehead  Cahore EU in the 2013 Prydes Easifeed Great Southern Star at Tabcorp Park in Melton, Victoria, Australia.

Her 4 year old full sister in Rosy Cheeks  1.58.2 has to date a record of 12 starts for 6 wins and 2 placings with career earnings of 280,500 SEK or $43,288.00USD, and as such "Teal's" value as a broodmare is already assured in the Southern Hemisphere after her racing career in Sweden as a 3yo and 4yo is completed.

It is intended that both fillies are put in foal to Southern Hemisphere time after their respective racing careers are over in Sweden and they are then exported to Australia, with the foals from both mares being bloodlines unattainable in the Southern Hemisphere.

With all things going well with both of them, "Excellent" and "Teal" would foal and then recommence racing  "Down Under", with the aim being they are successfully winning on the track "Down Under" thus becoming dual hemisphered winning Broodmares and invaluable additions to the Aldebaran Park broodmare band.
