Aldebaran Park Inc Update

The 2013 Stakes Racing Season finally concluded at the New Meadowlands Racetrack on Saturday 30th November. Whilst the night of racing featured the $500k TVG Finals for the Open Aged Trotters and Pacers, it also included the $253k Moni Maker 3yo Fillies Trot. Aldebaran Park Inc was represented in the final by both its outstanding fillies Ma Chere Hall and Mistery Woman.

Ma Chere Hall

There are few words to describe the achievements of Ma Chere Hall throughout the 2013 season. She capped off an outstanding year with a brave second to the outstanding Bee A Magician (17 from 17 for the season) in the Moni Maker. This followed her sweep of the Matron Stakes Eliminator and Final at Dover Downs earlier in November. She has ended the year with a season's record of 17 starts for 9 wins and 5 seconds, and accumulated over $506k in prize money. Her overall record throughout her 2yo & 3yo racing seasons is 29 starts for 12 wins and 7 placings and along the way she has accumulated $669k in prize money. Her lifetime mark of 1.52.3 ranks her as the 4th fastest 3yo trotting filly in North America. She is by far the best performing progeny, male or female, of her sire Deweycheatumnhowe.

Mistery Woman

Coming off a 7 week layoff since Lexington, and with only one qualifier under her belt (where she was just beaten by the open class performer Arch Madness), Mistery Woman stormed home from last at the top of the straight to run 3rd in the Moni Maker. This gave Aldebaran Park Inc the two minor placings in the 3yo feature. She has ended the year with a season's record of 15 starts for 3 wins and 8 placings, and accumulated over $292k in prize money for the year. Her overall record throughout her 2yo & 3yo racing seasons is 20 starts for 6 wins and 9 placings and along the way she has accumulated $380k in prize money. Her lifetime mark of 1.52.1 ranks her as the 2nd fastest 3yo trotting filly in North America behind Bee A Magician.

Both fillies will now head to the spelling paddock in Florida, and the good news is that both will race on as 4yo mares next season under the continued expert guidance of Team JC.

As previously updated, this season\'s 2yo filly Passing Jetta was "shut down early" and will return to work in Florida in January 2014. Our 2yo gelding Mountain Dewey was sold at the Harrisburg Mixed Sale in November.

Aldebaran Park Inc was extremely active at both the Lexington and Harrisburg Sales this year. Season 2014 will see a Muscle Hill Trotting Colt and 4 Trotting Fillies, two by Lucky Chucky, one by Donato Hanover and one by Yankee Glide fly the banner in the 2yo races.

On the breeding front, both Aldebaran Park Inc mares domiciled at Millstream Farm in Kentucky are in fine fettle. 2014 will see both mares Too Busy To Care (Chocolatier) in foal to Conway Hall and Aldebaran Malibu (Cantab Hall) in foal to Credit Winner, produce their first foals.

Given this year's results, we can't wait to see what 2014 brings both on the racetrack and in the breeding barn.
