Aldebaran Park Bred 10 winners for the month - October 2025

October 2025 was a red-letter month for Aldebaran Park with no less than 10 winners bred and raised at the Nagambie nursery.

Undoubtedly, the standout performer was Keayang Brandy (ALDEBARAN EAGLE USA - Im Princess Sophie), who has won five of her past seven starts including wins at Cranbourne (in 1:59.5) and Shepparton during October.

Aldebaran Dexta – 20 wins (ALDEBARAN EAGLE USA - Aldebaran Deegan NZ) continued his fine form winning a heat of the SA Trotters Cup at Globe Derby Park and finishing a neck second in the Group 3 $40,000 Final.

Meanwhile, Kyvalley Heist NZ  Tr 1.59.0 (Muscle Mass USA - U Dream NZ) brought up win No. 15 in the Gramel Trotters Cup at Globe Derby and took his stakes to in excess of $115,000.

In America, Lair Of The Eagle (ALDEBARAN EAGLE USA - Never Never Land) notched successes at Plainridge Park, Massachusetts in a career-best 1:56.2 and Saratoga Raceway, New York in 1:58.

Other Aldebaran Park-bred winners in October were Aldebaran Boyd Tr 1.57.8 – 15 wins (ALDEBARAN EAGLE USA - Aldebaran Revenue), who overcame a 10 metre handicap at Pinjarra to take his stakes to in excess of $125,000 and the two-year-old filly Aldebaran Ada (Brillantissime Fra - Aldebaran Aliza), a maiden winner at Bendigo.

Southwind Frank USA richest ‘down under progeny Aldebaran Brooke Tr 1.58.5 – 9 wins (ex Excellent Boko Swe), increased her stake tally to in excess of $85,000 at Geelong, the three-year-old Aldebaran Sue (Father Patrick USA - Aldebaran Shakira), who won her third race from six starts at Maryborough, Hammer Son – Tr 1.57.6 – 16 wins (Majestic Son Ca - Jingling Silver), who went over the $150,000 plateau at Marburg in Queensland, and the Mount Gambier – South Australia winner Aldebaran Anton (SKYVALLEY NZ - Backina Lifetime).

ALDEBARAN EAGLE USA continues to turn out the winners with his leading performers last month being Keayang Brandy, Aldebaran Dexta, Gatesy’s Gem, a Melton winner in 1:57.4 and runner-up in the Group 1 $60,000 Victoria Trotters Oaks, Aldebaran Boyd and Lair Of The Eagle.

SKYVALLEY NZ, who is fourth on the sire’s premiership table, was represented by a trio of three-year-old winners in She’s Sky High (Shepparton and Ararat), Karbine (2:00) and Low Lie The Fields, the four-year-old Maximez and Aldebaran Anton.

Daughters of SKYVALLEY NZ produced the 1:57.3 Menangle victor One Pinevale Hill, the three-year-old I Am Hellbound and the Cambridge, NZ winner Maro McKendon.

A pair of Aldebaran Park-owned winners recently were Queen Kizen NZ, a What The Hill Ca half-sister to the millionairess Queen Elida NZ, and the back-to-back Maryborough winner Aldebaran Susanne - a What The Hill Ca mare out of the outstanding racemare Cold Sister USA.

 

 

The Swedish superstars MAHARAJAH and CALGARY GAMES – both available at Aldebaran Park this Breeding Season, sired important winners in Europe and North America during October.

MAHARAJAH was represented by the winner of both the UET Grand Prix for four-year-olds, run at Solvalla, Sweden in Dream Mine, who rated 1:53.6 to collect the first prize of $US250,000, and the 800,800 euros Derby Italiano del Trotto, Italy’s biggest race for three-year-old trotters and held at the La Capanelle track outside Rome, in Gabrioz, who rated 1:56.6 for 1-5/16 miles. The colt has won nine of his 10 starts to date.

CALGARY GAMES has made a spectacular start to his siring career in Sweden and America. In USA, Busy Miss Lissy and Demimond brought attention to CALGARY GAMES with the former finishing runner-up in the $US108,000 International Stallion Stakes in 1:52.2 at The Red Mile and the latter claiming the $US40,000 Kentucky Sires Stakes at Cumberland Run in 1:57.6.

CALGARY GAMES’ stock were highly sought after at the recent Kriterium auction at Solvalla with six of the 10 most expensive lots sired by him. The nine yearlings sired by CALGARY GAMES averaged out at $US49,000, more than double the overall average price.

In further news Aldebaran Miley, the richest Australian-bred progeny of Father Patrick USA with $164,335, has been retired to stud and will be bred to Swedish superstar Calgary Games.
